October Meeting

All of our hard work making quilts, receiving blankets, aprons, doll clothes, place mats - just to name a few - were displayed.  WOW - were we ever busy!!  These items will be donated to the Primary Children's Hospital Festival of Trees event.  Our group really enjoyed making the items as we know they will be going to an extremely worthy cause.

Christmas items and show and tell

Members brought items they were making for Christmas and many brought finished quilts that they started at the retreat and earlier.  We also are pleased to announce that Kathy Hurst has agreed to head our 2017 quilters!!!  Thank you President Hurst!!!  Members all agreed to help her as needed.

September Retreat 2016

Another wonderful time at the Canyonlands Lodge on the Blue Mountains.  It was a smaller crowd this year, but a great time was had by all that attended.  Many quilts and projects were completed over the 4 days of stay.  Cathy Cosby taught the rhombus cube method and many completed this easy and quick quilt.

As always there was wonderful food, good visiting and lots of sewing.  We will be looking for a new retreat place next year as the owners will be moving into the lodge.  It has been a wonderful place for us for the past 6 years - it will be missed!!  Hopefully we can find another place just as wonderful!  Our October meeting will be held at the library.

June Happenings

The GCQ guild presented a quilt to Paula Atcitty.  She lost her home, vehicles, family dogs and ATV's to a fire recently.  Paula is a local gal, graduating from San Juan High and is now a dialysis nurse at the Blue Mountain Hospital.  We were glad so glad that we could give her a little "comfort" during this tragic time!

The guild met at the county library June 15th.  DeAnn Ivins was the presenter and did a super demonstration on making rag quilts.  She does this on a regular basis at the Bluff Fort.  It was very interesting and looked like a lot of fun to do.

It's not always quantity that counts!  Grayson Country Quilters pulled off another 4-H Quilt Camp!
We were few in numbers but BIG in spirit, talent and stickety-to-ity!  A big thanks to Lou Mueller and USU Extension Office for providing lunch for the two day event.

Carol Fredere - Great Volunteer - Made us cupcakes, folded "hot dogs" for pillow cases, told us stories from her childhood to keep us entertained!  Thanks Carol!!

Janet Wilcox's Granddaughter - worked diligently on pillow cases for Primary Children's Festival of Trees.

Janet makes sure ALL her grandchildren get a chance!  Helping her grandson with some fun pillow cases.
Jeri helping a "hidden" Paisley with her very first quilt.

Debbie's Granddaughter finds music to keep her "in the mood" while she makes her first quilt.
Bentley's first quilt - she endured to the end!

Janet and Jeri have more photos - so there will be more to come!
