June Sew-a-Thon weekend

The guild met June 23rd & 24th for another sew weekend to finish up projects and quilts for the July 4th quilt show.  Our show will be held at the Blanding Wellness Center beginning at 11:00 on July 4th.  There is no cost to attend.  There will be many beautiful quilts to see as well as items to purchase from the Country Store.  There will also be handmade quilts for sale this year.  Yes, we make TOO many and need to clear out the supply to make more!!!  So now is the time to get one of these beauties!  If you haven't purchased your tickets for the fabulous red, white and blue quilt you will be able to do so at the show.  The lucky winner will be announced at 4 pm that day!!  The proceeds will go towards material for charity quilts that the guild provides throughout the year.  This is our big fundraiser so come support the GCQ!!!

If you are not a member of the guild but would like to display a quilt, please contact Kathy Hurst for an entry label and bring your quilt to the wellness center at 4 pm July 3rd - this is when we will set up for the show.

This quilt top was completed at the sew weekend.  Many members helped with this quilt.  The lucky recipient is a secret, but I'm sure they will love it - it turned out beautiful!!!

Karen finished her strip quilt.  How springy!!!!

This is Lucy's first quilt and it's all about Paris!  So cool!!!

This amazing quilt is for Debbie's soon-to-be granddaughter - how lucky is she????

May Sew Weekend

A large group attended the sew weekend in May.  Show and tell was huge so that means the quilt show will be so worth attending - plus there will be quilts for sale!!!  If you've always wanted a beautiful quilt but are not into sewing this will be the time to pick one up.  The country story will have small items and baked goods as well for purchase.  Don't forget to buy your tickets for the Patriotic quilt that is being raffled off.  It is a beauty!!!!  Tickets are being sold at Clark's Market on Wednesday's and Friday's - or you can contact any guild member to purchase them.  $5 for 3 tickets. The quilt show will be held at the Wellness Center from 11 - 4 on July 4th with the drawing at 4 pm.  Another sew weekend for members will be held June 23-24 at the library.  We will be finishing up all our quilts for the quilt show and working on charity blankets.  Feel free to stop by and visit and check out what is happening in our group.
