Closing Summer Social

Patty Lyman hosted our August Summer Social.  It was a lovely evening in her backyard - the weather was perfect and the food was great.  Patty's husband Bruce cooked salmon (delicious!) and everyone provided a pot luck side dish.  There were wonderful salads, potatoes and desserts.  Debbie Christiansen gave us the "low down" on the September retreat.  It will be held at the Lund Ranch in Long Canyon.  Debbie has put in a lot of work to make this retreat special and she won't even get to attend!!!  She has some fun quilting games designed that should be a real treat.  One game is quilters bingo.  Everyone has to sew a 25 square bingo card.  At the end we will sew all the bingo cards together to make a charity quilt - how cool is that!!!   The guild made a quilt for Kathy Lund and presented it to her at the social.  She is being so gracious to let us use her place for our retreat!!!  Cathy and Deb showed the quilts that will be demonstrated at the retreat as well.  Both are very fun to make.  The evening ended with show and tell.  Thanks again Patty for your backyard!!

July 4th Quilt Show

What a wonderful show with 86 quilts on display!  Plus, the talents of Norma Madden (our spotlight special) was so inspiring!  Not only can this wonderful lady turn our beautiful pieced, applique and embroidery quilts - she is amazing with her crochet work.  It was a beautiful display of her talents for all to see.

Thank you to all who donated for a chance to own the beautiful patriotic quilt.  These donations keep our guild going with all our charity projects!
