Ahhhh! Quilt Retreat!

Another wonderful quilt retreat for the Grayson Country Quilters!  Who could have asked for anything more????  Where else can you go and hear the melodious strains of "The Ants Go Marching"( in Navajo) as well as "Blue Mountain" and "White Mesa" ?  Throw in some fantastic Cowboy Poetry.  Mix that up with extraordinary cuisine; Breakfast casserole, Taco salad, Fry bread, corn on the cob, Yogurt Parfait, toasted Bagels.  Plus you want a snack? - Utah made chocolate truffles, zesty hot crackers, trail mix, grapes, tomatoes, chips, melt in your mouth ginger snaps and peanut butter cookies - I think we were in quilters heaven!  In-between cutting, pressing, sewing, we didn't have to move an inch to see a quilt show from Hill City South Dakota!  Want to learn something new?  We did - scrappy 8, no tear paper piecing!  We were visted by several of Blanding's most prestegious citizens.  Projects were being completed left and right - every participant finished at least one project - some of our die hards completed numerous projects.  Top that off with the cool mountain air, the beautiful lodge, the peace and quiet - we were almost in heaven!  Thanks to all who came, thanks to all who helped!  BIG thanks to Gail and Worthy Glover - chairpersons for the event - Deb Bayles who keeps us organized and doesn't forget a detail!  Hope to see you all next year!!!!

debbie c - soon 'not to be' president of the Grayson Country Quilt Guild!!
