February Sew Weekend


For our guild meeting we gathered together at the Library on Friday the 27th, 1 to 9pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm  and sewed our little hearts out and watch it snow snow snow outside.  Of course it can't really be a great retreat without lots of food and chatter.....Fun Fun

This year Deb Bayles gave those that wanted a Challenge, a pattern and said that we needed to step out of our boxes and challenge ourselves and find a way to change the pattern around.

Kathleen Lyman ( handkerchief) and her sister Bonnie Meyer (half square triangle ), gather their stash together and started cutting strips, squares, triangles, etc to start their desired quilt.  While Marcia photo-bombed.

 Marcia Johnson found an UFO from 8 yrs ago and finally completed it, well she still needs borders





Mary Helen Palmer worked on the guilds 4th of July quilt block, and then completed her table runner, Mary Helen loves loves loves PURPLE.


 Annie Charles has only been a guild member 2 yrs and she is hard at work doing not only her projects but whatever the challenges the guild does.  Here she is working on the Challenge Quilt and was so happy when she completed 1 block....


Sylvia Roberts busy busy busy trying to get her Challenge Quilt from 2 yrs ago completed, she is so quietly working we forget she is there.




  Shari Guymon also has many projects going, there is one she completed from the Retreat last year.

 







Karen Kartchner has her hands busy always, here she is binding baby quilts that are donated to the hospital.  She loves to embroider projects for her grand kids.


Norma Madden is one of our ANCHORS, she is one of the quilters that started our guild many years ago, this is just 1in a million projects that she has going for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.


Kathy Hurst was so busy in her little corner of the world, working on her Twister quilt (get a photo later), she also started her Challenge Quilt and learned how to machine applique', and also helped other doing the challenge quilt she headed up last year.  Kathy to is a great hemstitch er also.



Worthy and Gail Glover, is our husband and wife team, they come up with the best quilt project, Worthy designed, pieced, and quilted this basket weave.  We love having Worthy with us, he has been our tire changer, battery starter, quilt holder and cheerleader.








Deb Bayles accomplished many projects this weekend, here she is working on the 4th of July Quilt Block, she finished 4 place mats, and helped the ones that was doing the Challenge Quilt.









 Cathy Cosby is working on her second Sunbonnet Sue Quilt for her #2 granddaughter who is almost a year old, she has 1 already done for her 8yr old granddaughter, these quilts will be given to them on their High School Graduation Day. Her still in progress Challenge Quilt, 4 more borders.

Let's not forget the FOOD, this table changed many time over, and we had a yummy dinner on friday night by Kathleen Lyman, Bonnie Meyer, Shari Guymon, Donna Slade.





Thank you ladies and Worthy for a fun fun weekend, we are all exhausted but Now go shovel all the snow that fell the last two days while we were snuggled up with our sewing machines.
